Finished the center medallion of my oh so boring quilt. In between working on that I finished 9 circle blocks, raw edges turned under using facing method, ready to applique. Now to decide what to use in the center and what layout.

loving those circles.

Those are neat and will make a very pretty quilt.

Very pretty scrappy circles. Fans or Dresdens? Will make a beautiful quilt.

As a group of circles they are very impressive. LOVE all the colors.....Hugs

I love, love, love the fabrics in your centre medallion - why is it boring for you to do?

A great idea for scrappy dresdens, they look fantastic all laid out together

QuiltnNan 06-04-2013 01:42 PM

nicely done

QUILTNMO 06-04-2013 02:20 PM

very nice!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm, I was thinking black centers and then thought, I wonder if they would look like the pupil of eyes? Maybe bright yellow kind of like a flower center?

Your circles are awesome, what amazing piecing

gingerella 06-04-2013 06:58 PM

Your first one is absolutely beautiful. The circles are very intriguing - what is the diameter? These six circles are really interesting if you decide to use any of the ideas above. Yellow or Black circles - that would be fun to see on a bright red or black background.

They are 12 in across. Still tossing ideas for them around in my head.

Your circles are awesome!

Donna 66 06-05-2013 06:18 AM

They're both awesome! I can see why making your center medallion may have gotten boring, but the results are far from boring. Thanks for sharing.

I love them! On your circles; I saw a quilt (maybe on the board?) that embroidered centers in a Dresden and it looked great. A fussy-cut print center might work too.

The scrappy circles are unique. This is a terrific outside the box block. Thanks for sharing this.

jackied 06-05-2013 11:22 PM

I'm thinking the black centers would look really good.

Ombragrise 06-06-2013 01:41 AM

It will be a wonderfull quilt !

anndr 06-06-2013 04:13 AM

What is the pattern for the circles? I love it and I think black centers will really set them off nicely. Please post where we can find this pattern. Gotta do it!

solstice3 06-06-2013 06:25 AM

hang in there and fight the boring. beautiful work

craftynell 06-06-2013 08:42 AM

I love the circles.

tkwolcott 06-06-2013 10:08 AM

What about yo-yo's for the circle centers?

twinkie 06-06-2013 03:11 PM

I love the scrappy circles.

I didn't use a pattern. Just sewed strings together put my dresden ruler on it and cut, sewed same as dresden but did not make the points as I wanted circles.

cwessel47 06-06-2013 04:50 PM

Hmm... what is so boring about the first one? It doesn't LOOK boring! Keep on a-going. Things are looking great.

Karen Mc 06-07-2013 08:04 AM

Both quilts are very nice. Love the colors.

mimiof4 06-07-2013 05:17 PM

I like both quilts the circle one is my favorite though and I think I would choose black for the centers.
