All Scrappy I Spy LC Bear's Paw top is done! Some of you may remember when I posted this 3 mos. ago, but I finally got back to it after stopping to do a few quilts. Here's the thread if you missed it:

Blocks finish @ 8.5" and quilt is Twin Size, 60 x 80. Log cabin style blocks were already made when I decided to turn it into a Bear's Paw block. The blocks just looked boring to me until I livened them up. I wanted the pad of the foot and the claw to have a connection so I HA a tiny square in the center of some blocks to highlight the pad. Top and bottom sashing used was muslin in order to highlight the claws and give it some space. A crumb strip set was even used in one block (I'll show a pic of). Lots of close-ups are included also to see some of those fun fabs. Lots of I Spy in this quilt for a children's charity.

I should say I started out with the 1st block wonky and found I didn't like it and didn't know how to do it very well anyway, but when I got done with the blocks, I noticed how 'naturally' wonky they are!! hahaha!!

It was a fun quilt to do and I let the kid in me have fun with it! Hope you enjoy it like I do!

Here are the specs:

Quilt top: 60x80
Block size: fin. @ 8.5"
Cut squares for HST's @ 3"
Cut corner squares @ 3.25"
*LC block fin. @ 6"
Sashing + cornerstones cut @ 1.5"
Inner muslin border cut @ 3.5"
Final muslin border cut @ 5.5"

*For the LC block, no foundation piecing was needed. I just started off with 2.5" squares usually and just added strips (don't pay attn. to color) until I got to a 6.5" size and then squared up to 6". Use crumb strips to make it a little livlier! Be color-happy with the claws! Have fun with it!

p.s. Next piece of business is finishing Wonky Churn Dash as I know lots of you are interested in this one!

Thnx for looking and hope your Uptown Bear's Paw turns out great!!
