Wonderful! And you learned to digitize. That looks difficult. So sorry about your broken arm.

You are a mom on a mission! Nothing could stop you from making this beautiful quilt for your son! Very impressive, I love moms like this!

Very nice quilt and work. I cannot imagine trying to quilt with an arm cast on. I don't know how you managed but you did!

Hi, All, I've been lurking for a long time and have decided to share the third quilt I've ever done. This is for my son's birthday. He is in the Air Force and is currently deployed. This has been a challenge for me for a couple of reasons. First challenge was digitizing the 5 different aircraft that are embroidered on the front. The second challenge was when I was almost finished with the back, I broke my dominate arm and have a full arm cast from knuckles to shoulder. I just got my quilting frame so I had to learn to use it using just one hand. I just finished it today
so needless to say I'm a tad bit proud. I’ve learned a lot from this site. :)

WOW - you DIGITIZED these planes??? I am MORE than impressed!!! Wonderful job! I love the design you created for the quilt, and how the embroidered blocks are focused/featured. The pieced back is just delightful.......and Air Force colors too!! My Uncle is a retired Air Force Major General, his daughter is an Air Force retired Major, and his son is an air Force retired Lt. Colonel... Uncle Gene just last week pinned wings on two of his Grandsons as they received their Commissions after finishing college @ MIT and Florida State ( twin boys - Mat & Tim - sons of the retired Major, whose husband is also retired Air Force, a Lt Col.) You can say we really are an Air Force Family!

Love your quilt for your son! It inspires me to make a USAF quilt for my DH who is retired from the AF and my DGS who is presently serving in the AF! Great long lasting gift for them!!!
