I discovered that I had too many small scraps of lace. My nephew was going to have a baby girl, so I made this quilt for them. It's just a simple patchwork, but the white square has scraps of lace sewn on. It's very decorative, but the baby loves it! She's almost a year now and hauls it everywhere. I just couldn't waste those little pieces of lace!

Very dainty but durable

I did my favorite - "crows foot".

There is a funny story about this little project. I had the top all ready, just getting the backing out. My husband came into the room and I asked him what he thought of Baby Brenda's quilt. He hummed and hawed. He finally, very politely, said "there are a few threads you'll need to trim". So I turned around and saw that he was looking at the back! He supports my hobby, but knows NUTHIN' about  it!

You are the best! Lace in a pink and white baby quilt is the best idea. Love the quilt. I wish a had a baby girl in the future to use your idea. but, alas I have a co-worker going to have a baby boy.

How cute! I never thought of that.

Doesn't it make you feel good when someone uses what you spent all that time making?

This is a beautiful quilt, with an excellent way to use up those little bits. I did a baby quilt some time ago using up my broderie anglaise
