I did some small paper pieced hearts and inserted them into some pretty paper I had to make cards.

I'll send them to family for Valentine's Day, but I think I'll keep making cards with different pictures for all occasions.

I enjoy the paper piecing and love how they turned out.

did you cut a window for the PP and put fabric or paper on the back of the block?

You did a great job. Those are beautiful and will make a lasting gift for the one who receives them.

I used to make all kinds of cards and had my own line, but haven't done it in years. You can also cut out Sunbonnet Sue's, birds or draw a scene on the cards. Use cutouts from fabric, after applyiing Steam-A-Seam to the back and iron on card, stitch around the cutout or use a pen to make quilt like marks around the cutout.

I cut the window out of the patterned paper, sewed the block in around the window and then cut a piece of card stock the same size as the patterned paper and glued the two together. The card stock hides the back of the block and makes the card stand up nicely.

Very nice!! Did you know you can order cards made specially for quilted blocks, from Carol Doak's website? She also has a mini heart block to use. And...check out her yahoo site. Lots of freebies if you join.

Years ago I copied some patterns from a library book - sorry, but I didn't write down the name of the book. The patterns were for 4 inch blocks but I reduced them 46% on my copier/printer and they came out 2 1/2 inches - tiny!
