The squares all odd sizes and I just cut and sewed. I had no idea what I was doing.

Looks to me like you did just fine. There is not right or wrong. I love all Quilts! Yours is great:)

That is EXACTLY how I would describe my first quilt.

(Which, btw, is packed in a bag hidden in a box shoved to the back of a closet).

I really should take it out and finish it. i was so proud of it.
