What a beautiful quilt you have. You are so lucky to have something that old and still in such great condition.

I am not a quilt appraiser or authority, by any stretch of the imagination. But I do LOVE antique quilts, have studied them some, and have been to quite a few exhibitions.

Applique quilts made with turkey red and over-dyed green fabrics were very popular in the mid 1800s. Here are some links you may find interesting-

I would definitely have your quilt professionally dated and appraised.

I was looking at some quilts and I found this just like the one you have but witht he center all one color and it does date back 210 years ago.

I would really like to know how it has been stored all these years to keep it looking so good. I would be afraid to handle it, afraid oils etc. from touching would absorb into it and yellow it. Has it ever been restored?
