Vintage 9 Patch Finished!!!

1 Attachment(s)
I finally finished this!! I bought a whole mess of vintage fabric last year at an estate sale of a 94 year old woman who had Sunbonnet Sues, Dresden Plates, etc. I found these 9 patches in her stash, as well. I put them with white squares, quilted it and just finished binding it. I really like it but I am afraid to wash it!! Do these old fabrics bleed?? All over the white??
Measures 52 by 60 and going into my Etsy store if it doesn't bleed!

Really sweet looking!!! Old fabrics can bleed more than new one. Wash by hand and use a color catcher.

I love your quilt!

You can either buy a box of Shout Color Catchers or a bottle of Synthrapol. I would start with the Synthrapol--it keeps dyes in suspension in the washing water and not on your quilt. You can find the Color catchers in on the laundry section in grocery store. The Synthrapol is available at most fabric/quilting shops or buy it online.

Beautiful. I would also wash with synthrapol.

BEAUTIFUL! I'm sure the lady who made the squares is happy that they're now in a lovely quilt! :)

I don't imagine it will hurt to wash it. But, to on be on the safe side, I'd wash it with a color catcher. you can find it in Walmart in the laundry section.
