A vintage Double Wedding Ring (DWR) for a friend -- quilted by Dee
3 Attachment(s)
I just got this quilt off the machine. My BFF found this top at an estate sale over 20 yrs ago -----for (drum roll)... $.25 --- that's 25 CENTS!!!! It was hand pieced......and had a LOT of issues. I was able to finally get it to lay flat, though I think it has a record number of "pleats" to get it to lay flat. I'll be tacking those down and binding it in the future. :) It's about 80 x 90" or so. I LOVED doing this -- the fabrics were beautiful! Oh -- this is all freehand.....no computer .....

Beautiful job. I once hand quilted a DWR my grandmother made in the 60's. It had lots of puckers when I first started but at the end it laid flat.

I was just catching up on 'looking' and found your quilt! I can't believe that some one would have put that in a garage sale for .25...even 20 years ago! I have been looking at your close up photos of the fabrics...what great fun to just sit and look! You did a really glorious job of quilting it. I hope the little lady that sewed the top is looking down and smiling that now her quilt is FINALLY done! Enjoy!
