I already posted this in the vintage machine shop thread, but I'm going to try it here as well.

After seeing Starlite/Jan's thrift store find I started looking for a machine like it. I found this on ebay. I probably paid too much for it, but it is my favorite color and it is PRISTINE. This one is a bit different from hers, but similar.

I know it is a Singer 15 "clone." It weighs about 4,728 pounds, it is quieter than anything else in the house, and it makes a beautiful straight stitch. (I'm hooked - I can't wait to piece my next quilt with this machine) Everything on the underside says "Brother," but the front says "Made in Japan." Can anyone tell me anything more about this machine?

Thanks,

Darren

Darren, that's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to the machine shop. Billy and Charlee know a lot.

Wow, what an pretty color!!! I also see the tension knob in an unusual place, on the face plate. Don't think I've ever seen one like that. Very interesting and attractive machine. Have fun learning about it and using it.

Can't be of much help with this brand, but is is a beautiful machine...I have a Pinnock Sewmatic (made in Adelaide Australia) the same colour, mine is late 1950's model. It's currently in use and runs like a dream.
