Below are pics of another vintage quilt top that I recently made into a quilt for a friend. The top was made (all hand-pieced) by Mary Susan (Weathers) Senter, and she was born in 1843 and died in 1937 at age 93. She married Robert Winthrop Senter in 1861 when she was 18. So the top predates at least 1937.
I just did a free-motion quilt pattern all over it so it will hopefully help it hold up from any deterioration, and did a plain white backing. BTW, I have 8 more of these vintage tops. :D |
Beautiful quilts! Did you use your new long arm? You always do wonderful work!

In truth, nothing is any prettier than a simple 9 patch.

Nice work eddie! I agree you are a good friend to quilt these for your friends. They deserve to be seen and used.

What a beautiful quilt. I always love your quilting.

Hey Eddie,
Your quilting these tops has probably saved them. Amazing after 50 years in a bag that they look so good. So  to you and  to the lady who made the tops all those years ago. Ditter |
Eddie, you're doing a great job. Your choices of backings and bindings have been perfect. I can't wait to see the rest. I love vintage quilts. I think a simple 9 patch can be the most beautiful quilt.
|
Lucky you. That looks great.
|
Lovely!
|
Your work is wonderful!
