I sure enjoy looking at your miniture quilts. I know this has to be difficult and you are so precise. I hope this guild does not dismiss and discredit any minitures. Esp. if they put on a quilt show.
Perhaps you could give them a good education on the process and with many reputable references. This is your guild too. Best wishes.

Art is art!
It might be a little bitty piece of art, but no one has the right to tell you what size you have to make in order to qualify as a quilter.
Some people are just so rude, but that is only because their moms didn't teach them to appreciate differences in abilities, tastes, desires - - individuals, in other words.
It seems the older we get sometimes, the more fearful we become of people who don't do things the way we do - - silly humans! Life is more important than that.
Congratulations on all your beautiful little quilts <wave>

Your quilts are absolutely beautiful. I haven't ever made one but from the looks of it, they would be far more difficult then a large one!!!

They are not bed quilts, but they ARE quilts. Wow, wonder where these people got their information. They need to look up the definition of a quilt. And our "QUILT" show would sure be lacking in quilts to show if we said "wall quilts" were not eligible to be shown.

Apparently they have no idea what a quilt is.
You did a great job making those quilts and I would stand beside you and help argue that point any day.

I beg to differ with them. These are beautiful quilts and much harder to work with than larger ones. Pat yourself on the back.

Correct term is mini quilt and they seem to be the rage now. Every show I've attended has many of those little quilts. And yes, they use the word quilt. Separate category.

That's why I don't belong to a guild. Who gives them the right to define what is or isn't a quilt strictly by it's size?

I think your miniatures are beautiful and much more difficult to do than a bed size quilt. I can't imagine working with all of those little pieces.

Sorry you were subjected to such rudeness. I would tell them they should take the time to read the definition of "QUILT" in a dictionary: Quilt: A coverlet or blanket made of two layers of fabric with a layer of cotton, wool, feathers, or down in between, all stitched firmly together, usually in a decorative crisscross design.
No size was mentioned anywhere!!!!They obviously have never been to International Quilt Festival in Houston either-where I have seen many minature quilts on display. BTW, yours are stunningly beautiful QUILTS!!!
