That is going to be pretty. I have heard minky is hard to work with. My hat is off to you.

Wow--my hat is off to you. I have wrestled with minkee a time or two and it is not fun. This is going to be a cuddly quilt for a lucky baby!!! Cute fabrics, too

THanks I backed the minkee with iron stablizer but still had to pin like crazy when sewing seams.
Its going to Northern Canada so needs to be warm.
Making a pink one also so will be prepared for either.

What a great idea to use stabilizer on the minkee. I have scraps from backings and now I will not be afraid to use them in blocks on the front of a quilt. Thank you!!!!!

It's just wonderful. You have done a very good job sewing it. Give yourself a pat on the back for me. :D Thanks for sharing with all of us.

Very cute and I love Minkee! I just love to stroke it, does that make me weird? I just stand next to it in the LQS when I go to class and stroke it the whole time.

Nope, not weird. I do the same thing! I just stand there and "feel" it. Hubby says I probably drool when I do it too lol

I have a couple yard of minkee..i will try the stabilizer! Thanks!

Oklahoma Suzie 01-14-2010 05:34 PM

Very nice.

Awwww cute. I used Minkee on the back of a quilt. It was pretty slinky while I was trying to get it loaded on the quilt frame but, once that was accomplished, it quilted like a dream and it is SO soft and cuddly. I can surely imagine that you would have to stablize it if you were piecing with it. But I bet it will one warm, snuggly quilt.

BKinCO 01-14-2010 05:56 PM

So cute! And thanks for the hint for Minkee~~~I'm scared to try it!
