Squeeeeeeel - I love both.

What a great way to use up those scraps.
I am a scrappy person too and I love, love, love what you did with all of those scraps. I have book marked this page so I can return to it later when I run out of ideas! Tee-Hee-Hee!
You know what? Those quilts are simply stunning especially the first one!
AnnaK,
Your quilts are beautiful! I just finished 2 very scrappy log cabin quilts, forgot to take pictures before I gave them away. |
The second quilt is a pattern called Hot Dish. It's from a blog called StitchinTherapy send was posted around May 2014. It is so easy to put together. My friend and I each made one and she made hers with all floral fabric, different border. Looks very different from mine and lovely as well. Thank you everyone for your nice comments!

Thank you. Love Luna moths. Wish we had them in No. CA.
Blocks are 12" finished. The little strips were cut 1 1/2" wide. The center sq. is 6" finished. I made up the pattern after seeing one like it with solid fabric pieces. Still give too many scraps!
I pieced colorful rows with white alternates, then cut them in 2 1/2" strips. I first sewed a white, 2 1/2" inner border, then the strip with squares and finished with another white border. Hope that helps.

I know you don't need to match patches, but I have a fobia about matching I guess. All the quilts that I see here, seem to have matching fabrics and so do the magazine quilts and also the quilting book scrappy quilts. This frustrates me since I am very bad at colors. Any suggestions? I do want to work with scraps and make some nice items.
