Ok....this is so cute, and I am so new to quilting that I cannot figure out how you did this. Is it applique and did you have a bear pattern to use or is this painted? I am just mesmerized.

The quilt is pieced with bear and fish appliqued on the finished quilt top. Then the whole thing is quilted. The pupils of the eyes are colored on with a permanent ink pen for fabrics. The white "eye shine" is white acrylic paint applied with the top of a glass-headed, round pin.

did you have a pattern for the fish and bear or did you free hand it did you cut it out of another fabric?
This to me is the coolest thing. I am very partial to surface embellished quilting and knitting
