I too can remember plaids like that from.....I even have several in my flannel bin that look very similar. I would probably use them for sleep pants. As for quilting they could make a nice warm quilt but I tend to go away from plaids. If I can't cut and sew them perfectly straight I won't use them. I would be constantly ripping out until I had them perfect. LOL

I hear you! I'm working on a star sampler quilt for my son now, which has a lot of plaids in it. And I've been pretty persnickety about cutting them on the lines... but as to the sewing, well, gee, he's a 16-year-old BOY and somehow I don't think it will really matter to him if the stitching is absolutely spot-on. It will suffice, that it matches the colors he chose for his walls. Funny kid. If you ask him for his opinion it generally is "gee... I don't ... uh... know..." but if you press him for color selection or which color his jeans should be he actually has quite STRONG opionions. Who would'a known?

I am not sure that I would use these? I love plaids but they look to much like flannel shirts that my grandpa would wear. Not that ..that is bad..I just don't think I would use them in very many quilts.
