OK I posted pic of this in my PDA and in the UFO challenge....I got this as a kit from my Husband's grandmother a few years ago for Christmas...I had made two blocks back then and then put it in a storage container until last week.....I was going to try nad applique something in those squares...but I don't think I am ...I am going to have the quilter work her magic and do some detailed quilting in those areas. I am also going to save this quilt for one of my children....it will be a long time..but I just think it is so special to me for some reason.

That's gorgeous. Please post a new picture once it's quilted. I can't wait to see the final outcome.

lisalovesquilting 02-22-2010 04:08 PM

That is a beautiful quilt and you did a marvelous job with the piecing.

greencat 02-22-2010 04:10 PM

How pretty! I don't think I've seen this pattern before. Looks similar to the double wedding ring?

Sheila Elaine 02-22-2010 04:16 PM

Charismah, this is gorgeous. Any idea on when the fabrics were mfg'd? Pattern is diff than ones I've seen before using stars. You definitely have a treasure here.

You did a great job.

RedGarnet222 02-22-2010 05:06 PM

Oh... this is a very special quilt. Your right in not putting in any applique. The quilter can bring this alive with interest her stitches in between the blocks.

dunster 02-22-2010 07:01 PM

What a neat way to do a double wedding ring! You must have had to stay alert to make that pattern. Good job, and do post a picture after it's quilted.

Sharon M 02-22-2010 07:06 PM

Nothing like planning ahead
Your quilt is BEAUTIFUL can't wait to see the magic your quilter works on it.
You might have something there, making the quilt for way in the future. I should start doing that, instead of needing it 2 weeks ago :D

MollieSue 02-22-2010 07:57 PM

This is a special top. I agree with your revised plan...this one will really be great for speciality quilting and quite worthy of heirloom treatment. Always love to see your work!
