My dear friend kwhite sent me this lovely quilt. She knows how much I love the musical "Wicked", and when I saw the DQ she made, I whined like Mortimer until she made me one too. Isn't it AWESOME! And check out the quilting. It's almost as pretty from the back as from the front!

OK, so I know that two of them are K and I, now who do you suppose are the other two?   :?: :?: :?: :?:

Thank you my dear friend! I LOVE IT!!!! Hugs and more hugs!!!

Ducky, it's 24 x 24 inches.

MNQuilter 11-12-2009 02:16 PM

That's great! Before I read what you wrote, my first thought was "that looks like Wicked" and sure enough! I'm going to see the musical in Milwaukee next summer and am so excited! I tried to get tickets when teh show was here in Minneapolis but could only find tickets from teh crazy ticket brokers who charge like 3X the face value! REad the book ages ago and loved it!

BlueChicken 11-12-2009 02:20 PM

That's gorgeous!

I think I'll join the whining group in the hopes of getting one too! LOL

Is the pattern available for free or does it cost?

I'm going to practice my snivelling and whining when I get home..... :D

gaigai 11-12-2009 02:23 PM

Blue, it was in one of the quilt magazines. I'll have to go through my stack, but I know if you ask Kwhite, she'll know. I think it was Quilter or Quiltmaker, but don't quote me.

sewnsewer2 11-12-2009 03:49 PM

I love this pattern, she did a great job!

Shemjo 11-12-2009 04:31 PM

I love this pattern! And this version with the green faces is fabulous! PLus great job on the quilting K!

Maybe the other two witches are your alter egos, like good witch/bad witch? And why wouldn't she love YOU best? :D

gaigai 11-13-2009 01:43 AM

Aww, you know that's just a saying. K is SO sweet she loves everyone. Even Evil Kitty. She admitted it to me under extreme duress!

Ah, it's spelled that way referring to me a lot! And as for your girls, that just means that you are a good momma. All the best ones compete for the "Meanest Mother Ever" awards.

tlrnhi 11-13-2009 04:58 AM

Actually, those tails would look cute on a cat quilt....hint, hint........

Bevanger 11-13-2009 05:43 AM

Wow! That is awesome. :D

kwhite 11-13-2009 07:45 AM

I knocked around the idea of making North South East and West witches but I landed on this. I just love it. I have to make one for me now. I think I could make a living on these if I needed to. Yes it was Quilt maker Sept Oct issue. The hair and the lower hat brim is appliquéd The rest is pieced.

Iluv2quilt 11-13-2009 08:32 AM

That was sooo sweet!

fktsewing 11-16-2009 08:56 AM

Please let me know when you find out where the pattern is---My son lives in London and that was the first play he saw when he moved there. I would love to make it for him for his birthday.

gaigai 11-16-2009 11:14 AM

It was the September issue of Quiltmaker. I think you can get it if you go to quiltmaker.com
