I'm so inspired by all the beautiful quilts I see on this board that I thought I'd share the two tops I finished this week. Next project is some easy 4 patch flannel baby quilts for care packages for newly diagnosed SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) babies in honor of my grand-niece Violet who's first birthday would have been this Friday Feb 18th had she not been called to be God's little angel at 6 months. We are doing a balloon launch at the cemetery sending her birthday wishes to her in Heaven. So glad to be part of the effort to raise awareness for SMA.

hi there and welcome to the board, you will love this place!
It is called "Star Salute" by Michele Scott. The pattern is in McCalls Quilting magazine August 2001 edition. I made some changes to avoid using the templates, they paper pieced the stars, I just hand drew some and used heat and bond to fuse them onto plain navy rectangle . I wanted to try the easiest method of making 3 D flying geese, made 40 of them 2 x 4 finished size, and just used different sized scraps for the border. Let me know if you need any other info. I can send the link for the 3D geese, you'll never want to use triangles again!! good luck
