Welcome Committee
 

Finished this last yesterday. And now I've been able to take down the Christmas tree quilt that has filled this spot in my hallway. (FINALLY!). The spot is on the wall that faces you as you come into the house from the garage, so I'm calling it the Welcome Committee. This pattern is a design from SewFreshQuilts, and made to represent me and my DH. I told him I would give him a baseball cap, cuz he never leaves the house without one, and asked him to pick what should be on it. He immediately said the number 3 for his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. And I gave his shirt flannel-plaid quilting treatment, as that was always his favorite attire (not so much, now that we live in Florida, however!) For me, I added a yellow rose, my favorite flower, and of course, a quilt! Oh, and the short swoopy hairstyle is very appropriate as I finally ventured out and got a haircut last week ... VERY short!

Hello all.. I'm new here so hope it's OK for me to jump in with my "two cents".
Love your Welcome quilt. What a cute idea, and the story behind it got me to thinking that I would like to design something for my DH & myself to hang on the wall facing the front door. Add to my LONG List...ha ha. Have to make/finish my Christmas gifts first, then I'll have the time to research ideas.

That is so cute. I'm thinking seriously in making quilts either by piecing block patterns or embroidery designs of animals for wallhanging around my house. Have lots of walls especially going up my stairs to the 2nd floor and that hallway to the bedrooms. Been collecting patterns in both variations. this one is so cute.
