Here are two pictures of a Welsh Style wholecloth I made in 2010. The size is 72"x72", it's hand quilted and the batting is pure cotton. I needed about 4 month to finish it, 6-8 hours of quilting per day.

For the design of the quilt I was inspired by a quilt made around 1932 in Wales.

You talked about making that in 4 months! I cannot imagine! Did your hands hurt when you went to bed at night?

Absolutely stunning!! I love wholecloth quilts but have never ever tempted one. Your handquilting is unbelievable.

Absolutely stunning workmanship! What brand of fabric and thread did you use? I am having a difficult time finding even thread count fabrics for handquilting.

I used P&B Color Spectrum solids and a P&B printed fabric in a matching color. It has a thread count of 75/75 and is wonderful to hand quilt. Most fabrics for quilts has around 60/60. As far as I know P&B changed the quality of their fabrics now - at least the fabrics we can purchase here in Germany.
The quilting thread I used was YLI.

No, fortunately not. I think my hands are made for hand quilting and the muscles are very well exercised. I quilt 6-8 hours per day.
