Great buys! Love that thread holder. You did good!

grandjan 05-09-2011 05:50 AM

Lucky you! Sounds like a great bargain.

Boni53 05-09-2011 05:52 AM

Congratulations on your find. Had a viking and wore it completely out. They are good machines. Enjoy your new friend. May you have many years together. The thread holder was a great bargain, considering the cost of thread now.

Doreen 05-09-2011 05:58 AM

Yes! Another good find!

mimee4 05-09-2011 06:25 AM

What a deal - and you got fabric, too.

TootieAnn 05-09-2011 06:28 AM

I think you had a very good day. I love Viking machines. They are real workhorses. I hope you enjoy yours!

roadrunr 05-09-2011 06:34 AM

oh, wow, such a great price! How does she sew?

Picklelady 05-09-2011 07:47 AM

you sure did!!!! Just check your thread before you use it. Pull very hard on a string of it, if it breaks toss it. It could jam your machine. Just a little hint...does it make you think I've been there and done that?? You are right!

overdew 05-09-2011 07:49 AM

Congratulations on finding a great name brand. Be careful of the vintage thread, though. Some is so vintage (old) you can't use it except for putting the wooden spools in a jar for decorating the sewing area.

carol43 05-09-2011 08:09 AM

It has some special stitches showing on the front. It is a Husqvarna Viking Sew Easy 310 Electronic. Haven't had time to check it out and read the book yet.

I have to admit, I'm very partial to my Pfaff. Had it for 40 years now. But I'm afraid the motor is going out on it. The thought of researching and paying on a new one would have driven me nuts! This may ease the problem, let's hope!

Quiltylady 05-09-2011 06:18 PM

Good buy.

annieshane 05-09-2011 06:20 PM

chuckbere15 05-09-2011 11:26 PM

Lucky you. I went to an estate sale the other day and picked up twenty packs of machine needles for four dollars, well worth the ten that I spent in gas.

rona thickpenny 05-10-2011 01:28 AM

great find.

justlooking 05-10-2011 02:53 AM

I'd say you had a good day.

butterflywing 05-10-2011 10:59 AM

before you give up on the pfaff, have the brushes checked. the same thing happened to me on a necchi and it gave me an extra 6 years. btw, the vikings are wonderful!

I'll try that. I'm taking it back to my hometown to be serviced. When I walked into the shop here and described a problem, the first words out of the lady were "I think your motor is going out and that is expensive". Immediately I was on the defensive and very wary. I know the guy at home, so I'll try there first.

heberstitcher 05-10-2011 04:44 PM

You hit the mother-lode!! Congrats

DonnaB 05-16-2011 06:33 PM

Good find for you.

butterflywing 05-16-2011 07:50 PM
