Our local ALCO is discontinuing fabric and everything was 50% off which made it $1.99 yd. I ended up buying 45 yards. I went with a friend and she got 25 yards. We sure made a haul. I made sure I only got the good stuff. You really had to watch.

What a great buy!!! 45yds!!I have never bought that much at one time, maybe because I never found a bargain like that!! I told my DH today that the price of fabrics is supposed to really go up next year. He said"You'd better stock up before then" Music to my ears. I didn't tell him I had just placed an order with Joanns on line. Not as good as your bargain price though!!

Great Haul  Sad that another store is pulling out the fabric department though

Our Alco is closing out fabric, too. 50% off fabric 30% off notions, rulers, mats, etc.

I generally don't buy much fabric there, but it was nice to have a place right in town to pick up a fat quarter or two. Now, the closest place is Wal-mart 12 miles away or 45 miles to Joann's.

I went to the one in Hartford City, Indiana. I've got to start prewashing and one of the pieces is 10 yards. Not looking forward to that.
Alco is a little dime store type, bigger than a Dollar General, but not near as big as Walmart.

I just love a great bargin. Too bad though that your Alco is discontinuing their fabric. Looks like you and your friend made out nicely.
