OK what do you think of this? The blocks Im showing in the second picture, I was going to make more and add them at the top and bottom of the quilt?????? What do you think of the borders?
do you mean this |
Here's a thought....what if you took the borders from the other pics, then staggered the whale blocks, so they don't "line up" like a grid, but are more off set, like bricks?
|
I still like the seaweed. It brings in more color and adds interest. If you decide to use it, would be great for the binding, too.

stagger them where? Its early Im fuzzy on what your saying.

I would add a dark blue border first, then the seaweed and the orcas last with a dark blue binding....jmho

I think you need a very thin something between the seaweed and whales. Maybe 1/2" finished strip of something plainish like your water fab.
|
I guess I may be in the minority but I don't like the seaweed batik in it.
I would use a narrow dark blue like the whale blocks are framed in (border 1) then the jumping whales (border 2 ) then another narrow dark blue strip (border 3) and bind it with what looks like the stripe that is around the whale blocks. JMHO. |
I love your quilt and border fabrics, and border blocks :D:D:D
I would place a solid between the two outer ones... they look a little busy side by side. |
The strip of whales next to the picture block of whales is distracting. I would not want it going up and down, but across the quilt. I like the seaweed, too. In the block with the smaller pieces, I would not want both of the whales on the same row. I would stagger them or have them in opposite corners diagonal to each other. When you get it so it looks right to you, you'll know it.
