Is this an Ohio star?

The front is all HST in a four patch design and the border I did four triangles to mimic the square entering the border. But what are the four, star pattern blocks called that make up the piece? I used Ronda's 1.5 square to make all the HST blocks so the whole thing is only 10.5 inches square.

Is there any real name or should I just call it the Ohio star?

Thanks for the help I love this board!

Yes it sure is. Four of them set together and set on point like that makes it hard to tell , huh?

Oh ... Sorry, I love this topper. So pretty.

That's not an Ohio Star - Ohio stars have something like an hourglas where the points are. What you have is a variation of an Eight Pointed Star. Here is one pattern for it in a 12" block so you can see:

I was not sure what was closer since there are no whole blocks in the top. Every thing is HST even the centers that are green and red and yellow.

I did that last night and did not find anything the same.

Here is a closer picture of just one of the squares.

It is still an Eight-Pointed Star ... it's just that your block uses the half-square triangles method for the points instead of the flying geese. Here is another photo of a block: http://pinterest.com/pin/176977460329476905/

But if you wanted, you could call it Ohio Stars on point. I just meant to clarify - I do not mean to be the Quilt Police! You mini is darling and you can call it any kind of star you want!

County Junktion has several with different color variations and different names:

Thank you all for the help. I will label it HST Star. I think understand why the on point comes in, it because the center square is on point not the whole block, correct.
