I love the way this set looks on the guest bed! The challenge is due next Saturday. I don't think they're awarding cash prizes anymore but winning would still be fun.

Do you have a picture of the original panel?

No, I don't have a picture of the original panel but it was just two of the big squares in the bed runner with some dark red polka dot fabric between them. I used two panels in my set. There's a panel and a half in the bed runner and then I cut the hearts out of what was left of the second panel and appliqued them to the throw pillow.

jojosnana 10-20-2012 01:21 PM

Now that is a terrific use of panels!

You've got a nice bed setting as a result!

The other day I bought a Halloween vest panel at a thrift store ... with eyes to cut it up into a quilt project!

You are so creative! I have been looking at a panel for 3 months and just can't come up with a design. Does anyone else have ideas, websites, patterns, for using panels in bed size quilts?

Granna of 5 10-21-2012 05:53 AM

luana, I have the same problem, I have a panel with owls for my GD's quilt and can't seem to find a pattern or fabric I like to go with it. Maybe someone will come to our rescue.

Mona Marie 10-21-2012 05:55 AM

very awesome. I have a grand daughter born on Valentines day. Would have been perfect for her. Now she is the mother of two, one of which is in the first grade now and the little guy will be 3 the 30th of December. He has Down's Syndrome and is such a joy.

nstitches4u 10-22-2012 11:15 AM

Beautiful! Looks like a winner to me.

My time 10-22-2012 11:52 AM

What a clever person you are! So just the two big hearts on the outside are part of the panel and the rest were cut up and used? I would never have thought of this, well done!!

QandE2010 10-22-2012 12:14 PM

Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
