VIP is coming out with a new group of (licensed) Barbie fabrics. What do you think of these? Thumbs up, or thumbs down? (There are five fabrics in this collection.)

The only one I really like is the third one (Barbie in frames). Not crazy about the pink and black.

I think I agree... doesn't make me think of Barbie, sorry

ladygen 12-29-2009 10:08 PM

I absolutely LOVE the shoes print (fourth, I believe), it's so perfectly vintage Barbie. Otherwise... not so much.

Sheila Elaine 12-29-2009 11:33 PM

I like them all. Have to save a little money (or a lot) because my 44 yr old dau will have to see this. She had lots of Barbie's & I made the whole wedding dress/tuxedo, plus lots of other patterns. She had a suitcase full before it was over with. I think she still had them until someone knocked the lock off the storage unit they were renting & stole lots of her things, including her Class Ring.

I like black pink white but dont care for the ones with actual barbie on it sorry. I would hate to have to work with that fabric for any length of time at all.

SuzyM 12-30-2009 06:15 AM

I like the second one and the last two. Not crazy about the Barbie head fabric

renee765 12-30-2009 06:22 AM

The only one I would see myself using is the second one - the pink with the tiny shoes, purses, etc. This is probably weird, but these fabrics look more like gift wrap than fabric to me. (But then, I'm an old lady.)

Bevanger 12-30-2009 06:27 AM

They are all cute but the Barbie in frame is more BARBIE then the others.

Oklahoma Suzie 12-30-2009 06:48 AM

My granddaughter would love them. But pink and black for kids?

QuiltingGrannie 12-30-2009 06:48 AM

The first one - pillow covers, the second one - a tote bag, the third on - valance for window, fourth and fifth ones use in a quilt. I'd add some of the second on to the quilt for borders and maybe binding. ALL for someone who is into Barbie dolls or a collector of Barbie dolls. I have my Barbie dolls from 1964 but am not a collector, nor do I like pink that much so that leaves me out.

collettakay 12-30-2009 07:17 AM

I've seen a lot cuter Barbie prints. They don't really "speak" Barbie to me, except the one with the actual Barbie on it.

redrummy 12-30-2009 07:19 AM

I think they are adorable. I could see a little girl that is in to barbie being thrilled with a quilt made of those.

I'm with them. It just doesn't say "Barbie" to me. Maybe it is geared more toward adult Barbie fans and I was expecting little girl stuff.

Sugarpumpkin 12-30-2009 09:28 AM

I love these!

sewmuchfun 12-30-2009 01:19 PM

I like them all. I have 7 granddaughters, and I could see lots of quilted gifts made with them. Are they in the stores yet?

DONK 12-31-2009 04:11 AM

I like the pink with the tiny shoes and the one with the poodles. The others not so much.

huntannette 12-31-2009 09:46 AM

Oh I love them, except for the first one. Any little girl would love a quilt made with Barbie fabric! awesome!

2pink 12-31-2009 11:14 AM

Like Barbie framed and black shoes.

joann hussey 12-31-2009 11:55 AM

I think this is a very sophisticated looking Barbie...not something that is appealing to me for little girls :D:D:D

b.zang 12-31-2009 04:05 PM

Now I feel old :-(
None of these look like Barbie as I remember, except the word "Barbie".

marla 01-01-2010 12:10 PM

I like the third pic the best too. But when you put together a quilt, I can see pieces of blocks in the other fabrics. Try using it in a pattern with other materials. Pink and black are colrs from the 50's.

quiltincharlotte 01-01-2010 12:24 PM

I love ALL of them!!

wraez 01-01-2010 01:24 PM

Anyone who loves pink will be delighted with the fabrics.

I'm not a 'pink' kinda gal but my granddaughters would drool over them, I'm sure.

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

joann hussey 01-01-2010 03:57 PM

bright for young girls is nice

rutcat 01-06-2010 02:39 AM

I like all of them. I have a lot of Barbie fabric in my stash. The one with the pictures I don't think I'd buy but the second one & the last 2 I'll be looking for.

Yarn or Fabric 01-07-2010 06:43 AM

The only one I like is the poodle one - but I do not like the colors - at all.

The barbies in frames don't really look like barbies...

Having said all of that I'm sure the fabric line will be a big hit.

Jingle 01-07-2010 08:37 AM

I only like the 2nd and 4th.
