Very clever - Pretty fabric and I like how you made them sling over the top!

Kayaker26 05-27-2011 04:36 AM

I have some of those chairs want to make some more!

psychonurse 05-27-2011 04:46 AM

Nice job. I made new chusion covers last year but they were not stylist like this. I had camo material I had brought many
yrs ago for a $1 a yard and that is what I used.

Wow! Lovely work! Very inviting!

Quilter2B 05-27-2011 08:54 AM

That's a great idea; we have similar chairs and a couple of them are doing the same discoloration thingy. I've thought about making pads for them but wasn't sure how to "attach" them. Thanks for stimulating my thinker! Was also considering making arm wraps (similar to what people put on their seatbelts) to keep them cooler in the hot summer heat.

You should go into business making those. I have some bar height sling chairs and may try to do this. Did you do them in canvas or waterproof fabric? And did you have a pattern? Good job!!!

Thanks!I did not have a pattern. I just measured the chair seat & added an extra 2" for the sides & 3" for the length. That seems like a lot, but with turning & a layer of batting in there it came out just right. I used a heavy cotton home dec fabric print & duck canvas for the back. I may add some ties to tie them at the arms &/or legs because right now they are just slipped on at the top. I think I am going to use Scotchgard &/or some kind of waterproofer on them.

Thanks everyone for all of the kind words!

Great job!! I love the fabric. Can you tell me the name? Is it a sun/shade fabric? I want to recover my golf cart and this would look great.
