Incredible!!!! Words fail me to say how beautiful they are. I used to cross stitch also for many years but then that was many years ago. I miss doing it, this may just inspire me to dig out my stuff again and start back up...

Do you still do it??? I used to work in San Francisco and would cross stitch on BART. I've done soooooo much of it for so long ... the thought of doing it again made me sick!!!
Haven't made anything in about 7 years. Oddly, I was at Joanne's today and saw a wolf pattern that I thought I could incorporate into a quilt. I bought it!!! Guess enough time has gone by. Your work is fantastic. You are probably like me. Even if one stitch was wrong, I'd rip it out. I'm that way to with my quilts too. I'm trying to learn that most people would never see the mistakes. May take awhile (hee hee) :thumbup: |

Oh my, after my own heart, I love counted cross-stitch too. My hands have started bothering me just this year, but I finished one Christmas stocking and started on one for my greatgrandson, 10 months old, but hate to disappoint him, but it's on 18 count and it is eating my lunch. Just won't have it ready this year. Your work is simply beautiful. Sorry to hear about your fingers too. I have to use the glove on my right hand, got it at Hancocks. it helps a lot, plus 2 rapid release tylenol every morning. My mothers hands got bad from quilting so many years, but she was 93 when she died. I'm only 68, and I think this stuff has started way too early. But I keep plodding along.

Your cross stitch is gorgeous! You mentioned you can't do it anymore due to possible arthritis. I actually have had surgery on both of my thumbs for arthritis. I'll never get arthritis on my thumbs again. If I had to do it all over again I would go for the surgery. The difference was amazing for me. Now if they could find a way to remove all the other little bones in my body that rub together were old art resides I would be so happy. :)

I used to do cross stitch (a lot) before I got the Quilting bug too. Must be progression. I loved to do Mirabilia Queens or any ladies, love the colours and using beads to embellish the cross stitches. I don't have any pictures to show, as I sold a lot of them.
Do you think you will combine cross stitch with quilting?.A friend of mine does include some blocks that have a cross stitch design on them in fine aida. They are turn out lovely. Have a good day. |

I am, really use to be, a cross stitcher too. Your work is lovely! I have some I haven't framed & am thinking, quilt around them now & make wall hangings! So time will tell! I mainly quilt now, but have to much lovely stash in this to just get rid of, lol. I try & dig something out now & then & do a bit of it too, but quilting is my main thing now...
