I purchased 5 Mystery Medley fat qtrs thinking they would be pretty beautiful flowers...Oh well..here are three that I rec'd. I will post the other two later...no idea who I will make these for...not me...Yellow and reds are not my colors...and kiddie Christmas fabric is not my thing...oh well

I really like the reds & yellows!! The kiddie prints would be good for a baby quilt! I guess that's the chance you take when it's a Mystery!
You can always resell them on here, lol!

mymsmess 10-29-2011 04:27 AM

You could always sell them on here. Sorry the mystery you were given is not your kinda mystery!

carolaug 10-29-2011 04:31 AM

My hubby thinks I should think outside the box...and make them all...I guess it will be sorta fun to see who I can gift the quilts to. At least they are all from a LQS so the quality is really good. I am now thinking they may not be so bad...for gifts that is... LOL ; )

raptureready 10-29-2011 04:33 AM

I like them but each to our own. I always worry about "mystery" stuff. If they're afraid to show it then you've just got to wonder how bad it is.

thequilterslink 10-29-2011 04:33 AM

the red and yellow ones are very pretty

tealfalcon 10-29-2011 04:40 AM

I love getting mystery packs of fabric. It forces me to use colors and designs that I ordinarily would not buy. They make great charity quilts. I am not big on orientals, but after getting a few in a surprise pack they are starting to grow on me. Just have fun using them.

i like most of what you received. you always take a chance on mystery items. but the good thing about quilting is... you can cut it up into pieces and mix it with others and it turns into something entirely different.

I love the colors reds and yellow but they are my favorites colors:lol:   Look out side and see all the reds and yellows on the trees. They are gorgeous. :P

I never purchase fun fabrics so that would've been a surprise for me, too, but I can see using them for gifts. You will probably have great fun working on them because they are out of the box for you. I love the red bundle. :-)

katsewnsew 10-29-2011 05:18 AM

I too love the yellows and reds!

pjaco 10-29-2011 05:27 AM

Take it on as a chalenge, you may be surprised !

QuiltE 10-29-2011 05:38 AM

That's the risk you take with a Mystery!!!

As assortments, I think you have great sets and tghey'd work up nicely. Try working with them .... it's good experience to go outside of your comfort zone.

Worse case scenario ... you'll have something completed to give away to someone who can love it.

Best case scenario ... you'll surprise yourself as to how lovely it is, and won't let anyone have it!

KerryK 10-29-2011 05:56 AM

I think the yellow/black pack could make a stunning quilt. Look at the challenge as opportunity ... you may be surprised!

carolaug 10-29-2011 06:16 AM

I spent the morning putting other fat qtrs together with them. I have a lot of kits ready now....wow...over whelming...I do have alot of fabric...LOL..I also can not find the kit I put together for my brother...think its time to reorganize my sewing room...My hubby cleanned my sewing room...Yikes...he just put stuff everywhere.

QuiltQtrs 10-29-2011 06:18 AM

Use a book with patterns for Fat Quarters, and you will be amazed at how
lovely each batch of your fabrics will be in a finished project.
Highly recommend: Fast Quilts From Fat Quarters (Barbara Chainey)
Excellent, simple .....
