I was at a yard sale, and ask if she had a old machine ,y yes it was her mothers, its really old she said ok i will look . and see I couldnt belive my eyes ,its old and dirty hasnt been used in 40 yrs. I ask how much? she said $100.00 i said no. she said $50.00 so i jumped on it . $50.00 BUCKS , well i knew that with this board i could restore it . I hope /. Dottie Bug

Thank You ,I will have to get it cleaned ,what do you use , mineral spirits? I think Iwill have to take a air hose to it its pretty bad. :thumbup: :thumbup:

Mineral spirits might take off the decals. Go to the tutorial section and read all of Billy's tuts on cleaning and restoration. He can also help with the wiring and knee pedal.

I thought I could figure out how to restore my old machine, then read Billy's tuts and realized that sewing machines are different than other machines and I didn't know anything. LOL

I just restored my moms 1948 singer. Found this product called TR3.... it's an automotive cleaner/polisher/resin. Did a fabulous job removing 25 years of neglect, smoke and uck....... have fun!
TR3 was reccommended by "Treadleon", which was reccommended by Singer
