This quilt is for my step-son and daughter-in-law. They only got married 2 1/2 years ago! I didn't like working on it at home ....between the renovations and the animal hair, it just wasn't getting worked on. The machine quilting is done, the binding is on. Just the hand quilting to do. There are 25in squares, (17 hearts each), and 32 triangles (6 or 7 hearts each) . I am averaging one corner per lunch break.
Patti 17 hearts!!! (hope they show up!) |

That is beautiful. Love the hand stitch.

They did see the finished top when they got married. Shortly after that, I broke my arm, then it was garden season, after which I had hand surgery. And so it has gone!!! I kept waiting for the floor refinishing to be done, but we still have the living room and kitchen to do yet. After 2 1/2 years....time to get it finished!!
Thanks for all your wonderful comments. I love the encouragement on this board!!! Patti |

Looks beautiful! I'd love to see the whole quilt as I love the color combination. Isn't it funny ... I used to do things like that at work during lunch ... go in the conference room, shut the door, eat my lunch, and work away on whatever project I was doing at the time, whether piecing, beading, cross-stitch, etc. It always aroused so much curiosity ... everyone always wanted to see what I was working on and how far I'd gotten, things like that. A great way to spend that personal time!

You are the first person I have seen mix hand and machine quilting. I mixed the two when I finished a quilt that my grandmother had started. I gave it to my mother after my grandmother's wake a few years ago.
