I thought I would show you what I have been making. I made the keychain for a lady here on the board and it has been sent. Then I made the black stars checkbook cover and it was mailed.
In between putting templates together and mailing them LOL I have been working on two more orders. This one is for 3 checkbook covers and 2 eyeglass cases and 1 hotpad. Here you see the hotpad laid out to be sewn together. These are Kansas Dugout blocks. The pattern I saw in a magazine called the quilt she made Ripples. So I tend to think of Ripples when I do this pattern. Two of the tops on the right side will be eyeglass cases and the other one is a checkbook cover. Then I have 2 more checkbook covers to do. Tomarrow I will hopefully get the hotpad done and make the tops into the checkbooks and eyeglass case. I lay out the blocks and then sew them into 4 patches and then sew the 4 patches together and so on til I have them all sewn together into a top. Checkbook and eyeglass cases Keychain Black Star Checkbook Cover Hotpad on the left checkbooks and eyeglass on the right Hotpad upclose |
Love your work Rhonda.

My friend Dorothy makes the Kansas Dugouts for me and then I get to sit down and play with them. Then I make them into whatever item I need them to be.
Just don't look at the mistakes!! LOL Oh well nobody is perfect!! LOL |

Those are sooo cute!! I have 1.5 HST's that I consider very small!! What size blocks are you using? You really have patience, that's all I can say!

Nice work! I really admire the mini stuff, but still working on the big stuff, I will tackle those when all I have left is scraps!

The key chain has two places where the seams don't meet. I don't like to leave it that way. It shows up in the picture more than in real life tho. And the crowning glory is a piece I was working on for an order going to Kalona(store I sell to). I was hurrying to finish just one more checkbook cover and when I looked I had added the last section upside down and backwards!! The rows weren't right! I tossed it aside and it is still sitting waiting for me to fix it. You can see this one is not right. The squares are supposed to be in a line and the triangles are supposed to be going all the same way. Because I turned the twosomes around while piecing and didn't notice it this is all going every which way! It is supposed to be a pattern not a free for all! I wasn't sure I like this anyway. It is too busy I think. But I was trying something new and don't know til I get it right whether I like it or not. But oh yeah when I screw up it is a good one!! Don't know what to call it but it is a mess!! LOL |
You crack me up, Rhonda!!
Oh and by the way, my seam ripper and I have a very good love/hate relationship :D |
