Both are very very nice but the bargello is outstanding! WOW it pops!

Jim's Gem 10-07-2010 11:16 AM

Both are beautiful!

akrogirl 10-07-2010 11:24 AM

Beautiful, beautiful work! I would probably never have thought of putting those fabrics together for the table toppers, which would have been my loss - the finished results are stunning. I need to learn to be more adventurous :-)

Linda B 10-07-2010 12:32 PM

I'm not a huge fan of bargello, but I really like yours. I like the way the colors seem to flow into each other without the usual sharpness so many others tend to have.

crawford1219 10-07-2010 01:07 PM

I love them both-especially your bargello! I am trying to get my nerve up to do a bargello-have never tried making one yet. I think I am too scared I will mess it up :)

trisha 10-07-2010 07:30 PM

Dojo36, you are so sweet. I'm glad you posted a close up of your work! A double wow! I love your embroidery, are those sayings? They are wonderful! Is it hand embroidery or machine? You are so talented!
Blessings,

yes i used warm and natural and backing, did it just like i do a quilt. so if push came to shove, i could jerk it off the table and cover with it.

moonwolf47 10-08-2010 06:26 PM

Both are lovely!!! I am partial to the bargello one! Stunning!

zkosh 10-08-2010 08:13 PM

So pretty! I especially love the tablecloth! Was there a pattern or was it your design? The colors are wonderful.

karenm36 10-08-2010 08:18 PM

Love them both! Your use of color and design on both is fantastic! Wish you were a neighbor so you could teach me how to quilt! ;-)

a lady who works at our lqs had made one of those squares and i looked at it real good, came home and started cutting squares out of my old fqs and scraps. i had no idea what i was going to end up with until few days later a friend was over and i had it laying on kitchen table to cut jump threads and she said hey, that would make a beautiful tablecloth - the rest is history.

on the tablecloth i did not try to put colors together, just snatched and grabbed and cut and sewed. the bargello was a kit from my lqs - colors picked out by somebody there. i had to work the day of the class so my friend took the class then came to my house and gave me couple classes.

sunshine randall 10-09-2010 04:23 AM

Love them both! I'd be worried about using the first as a tablecloth, though... sure wouldn't want anything spilled o it.
