I've been so busy. But still finding my time to join everyone here for a while.

In picture #1, I'm trying my luck at making a set of these. They are already sold if I can make them. The lady that made the pattern at http://sewpractical.com is helping me out. She has lots of great patterns. And lots of freebies too! I just love her patterns. I plan on making her rag tree skirt and rag ornie balls next.

In picture #2, I did this top sometime back. I'm now quilting it. I have a second one waiting to be quilted. It's set up in a different color.

In picture #3, is some hot pads I've been making. I've been asked what are the things I use the homespun for. This is one of them. I'll show you my boo boo bags soon as I get some ready. I have a pile ready to finish that I cut and sewed up Monday.

I've also been working on a double wedding ring top while waiting on my puter to download things to read. I'll get a pic of that soon as I get it done. I've already sewn quite a bit this morning. I decided to bring it down to finish it up by hand. I love working on these. Now if I can decide what color I want the chimney pieces to be. The squares that attaches it together.

They are all very nice.

Lacelady 08-03-2011 05:14 AM

Love the hot pads, would you consider doing a tute on them please?

HummerGardenCrafts 08-03-2011 05:15 AM

I have to do two more candy jar quilts. So I will be looking for candy fabric shortly. I can't wait to do a bug one, snack, and so many more. If I can locate enough fabric. Like screws, nuts, bolts, guy stuff, I will make one of those. Plus fruit and veggies. There no end to what you can make with this pattern.

I also have to fish bowl pattern. I've been collecting fabric to put in that also.

These are really fun to make.

HummerGardenCrafts 08-03-2011 05:16 AM

You know I never thought of doing a tuterial on those. I've never done one before. I also made up a purse pattern. I was asked to do a tut on that too!

Deborah12687 08-03-2011 05:40 AM

I have been working on my UFO's as I have four quilts to finish and 6 quilted pillows. I feel good now that I can do quilting again after not being able to sew much after ripping up my sholder this past winter. Going to get back in the swing of it again. Also going to work on selling a lot my stash so tired of having piles of it and no place to go with it. From now on will only buy what I need one project at a time.

I know the feeling. I have a ton of fabric where I bought a lady out that was moving. I'm still making payments on it. And I want to get out from under that bill. So I hope to put some on here to move it out of my way. Some I know I will never use.

Love the candy jars. I have only seen those as bugs, what a great idea.

It's not that hard, just take pics regularly as you make one, then write a little explanation as you post each pic. For instance, what do you use to stuff them with? How do you stitch the coils together? Etc. etc.

Oh my gosh Deborah! You don't even want to know how many UFO's I have. I'm gradually doing a few at a time. I do them in between my crafts for sale. The date on the candy jar top tells you how long I've had that one. And just now quilting it.

Thank you everyone!
I always enjoy looking at everyone elses' stuff. So I thought it was time to put some of my things one.

Sure thing. I will do one on my scented stocking ornie too! I had forgotten about that pattern I drew up. I have lots of ideas.

Yeap, I stay busy all the time. I made these last year. I hope to make some more. I believe they were from a McCalls pattern.
I am working on a big scarecrow now. When I get it finished, I'm going to work up a three layer pumpkin. I think it's a McCalls pattern also.
I love doing new patterns.

4EVERquilt 08-03-2011 06:45 PM

All so cute!!

HummerGardenCrafts 08-03-2011 06:47 PM

I have tons of patterns I need to at least work one pattern off of each of them. I think I like working on fall and Christmas crafts and quilts the most. Because the colors are so colorful.

Thanks so much for sharing your work with us. I really like the pin cushions. Do you hot glue the flowers on? I have often wondered how those scented hotpads were made. Love your candy jar quilt. Looks good enough to eat!

I never thought of the pumpkins as pincushions. They are really just for decorations. But guess you can use them for the pincushions. And yes, you glue the flowers on. It's so fun decorateing them. And they are so super easy to make. I know there are two different sizes of them in the pattern. Seems like there might be 3 sizes. But my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

Those hot pads are so easy to make. A friend had bought one. She asked me if I could make her some new ones. So she gave me her old one. I'm not sure what was in the old one she had. It looked like kitty litter. But it was scented. Don't know if kitty litter will scent or not. Never tried that. But it is heavier than rice. I just took hers apart and took measurements.
I'm going to be making some new colors soon. I'll do a tuterial.

Thank you! I dug out all my ornie supplies today. So now I have a table full of all that stuff. If I get one done a day, it will be that many done. But I'll probably get more than that done a day. Depends on how much time I spend on them. And which ones I do.

Also want to do some more pumpkins.

Could you please possibily give us a few pics as you 'make' your pumpkins. Doesn't have to be too detailed. Just wondering how you get the stem on.

Oh, I can tell you how to put your stem on. Hot glue gun!!! Just make sure you put plenty on to hold it good. Most people won't pick the whole pumpkin up. They pick it up by the stem.

Really cute, I love the claus' and the bug jar quilt fabric is really interesting. I've never made hot pads, what do you use for the batting? The pumpkins are really cute too. :-)

Very nice.

Ladymurphy 08-06-2011 02:28 PM

I like the idea of using the pumpkins for pin cushions.

The spiral ones I made from homespun are filled with scented rice.
