OK, I bought this on ebay along with several quilt books, patterns and templates. The seller didn't know what this thingie is and neither do I. Can anyone help????? :oops: :oops:

The bottom side. There is no writing or numbers on it.

The silver knob in the middle turns and the "prongs" or needles come out

I remember something like that used to make daisy afghans. You wove the flowers on the prongs, then retract them to slide the flower off.

I believe it's something that was used to make some kind of yarn motifs (for lack of a better descriptive word) that were then crocheted together into an afghan. It was used back in the 60's/70's. You wind the yarn in a pattern around the prongs and then make the prongs retreat and remove the motif.
