I want to shadow and float these as I`ve seen here in some tshirt quilts.
Would I have to use white or off white or can I use another very pale colour to get that effect?
Sure luv the board and all sugesstions are very welcomed!
Thanks Gale
Forgot to ask those who have done this I`m asumming that the one sashing strip that goes on the left equals the shadow and sash strip on the right. right?

I think you are on the right track with a lighter pale color. I think a really pale pink with just a hint of texture would be perfect. Beautiful piece of work, by the way.

grma33 06-11-2010 08:05 AM

yes I was maybe thinking pink also.
Great minds think alike lol
Thanks Gale

Gorgeous. Pale pink would be my next choice!

dkabasketlady 06-11-2010 09:37 AM

Yes, a pale pink would be next!!!

knlsmith 06-11-2010 09:39 AM

Well I agree with great minds if I do say so my self!! Too much funny!!

Jim's Gem 06-11-2010 09:58 AM

A pale pink would be pretty but maybe even a light green?

knlsmith 06-11-2010 11:16 AM

Also, I think I would do a binding to match the purpke/blue background after the light border. That will make it really pop and glow! I can't wait to see it done! :)

grma33 06-11-2010 12:45 PM

well you`ll have to wait a while to see finished as i`m slow!

How about pale green?

craftybear 06-11-2010 04:46 PM

beautiful, pale pink or a rose color, please post a picture when you get it all done,

maryb119 06-11-2010 04:52 PM

Light pink or a green would be nice.

CarrieAnne 06-11-2010 04:53 PM

I would say pale pink too!

StitchinJoy 06-11-2010 04:57 PM

Pink is warm and will advance toward your eye as warm colors do. Try it by laying a thin sliver of fabric next to the piece to audition the color, and see if you like it or if it is distracting. I think maybe I'd go with a dove grey.

hmm, having just finished my 4 patch posey, I say Black...somewhere, even if it is setting stones!!

littlehud 06-11-2010 06:13 PM

That is so pretty. Pink would be wonderful.

RedGarnet222 06-11-2010 06:32 PM

I hate being the only one thinking a white on white patterned fabric would be the next one, but I do! It would bring out the center really nice.

sueisallaboutquilts 06-11-2010 07:21 PM

Pink is one of my favorite colors but I don't think it works with this quilt for some reason............. I also think black would be stunning.

roseOfsharon 06-11-2010 07:24 PM

light pink would be my choice :)

amma 06-11-2010 08:16 PM

Ooooo such a pretty block!!! I love the suggestions, can't wait to see what you decide on :D:D:D

grma33 06-12-2010 02:03 AM

stitchinjoy grey sounds great too!
Thanks all!

ProudGranny5 06-12-2010 02:23 PM

It is so pretty!!! I love the colors & how you have the boarder. I think a pale pink, magenta, black, or gray. So I think you have several choices. Can't wait to see what you choose, but I have patience!
