Nothing sews like a Bernina. I have 4 of those babies, 930, 150, 160, 200. I am thinking of selling the 150...but maybe not. They are hard to give up.

[QUOTE=Jan in VA;6358663][SIZE=3][FONT=arial]Berninas are wonderful -- as a Bernie owner I'm partial, of course -- but I'm also sure that one CAN be a *quilter* with any machine that's well made and well-maintained. :)

I made my first few quilts with an inexpensive machine I bought a Walmart. I had no idea what the difference was until I bought my "real quilting sewing machine"! It is much easier to get straight seams when the machine is not hopping around,( and I love not threading needles anymore, as it was getting harder since they made all the needle's eyes smaller than these old eyes could see.) I did find a solution to the "machine hop" as I call it. Put your machine on two or more mouse pads, as long as they are the same thickness. Cuts the vibration way down.

Nice machine and cabinet. Wish I could latch on to a deal like that. Until then, I'll just keep plugging away on my Brother. I spent way too much on my long arm. It will be awhile before I can make another major purchase.

Berninas rock!

I really like the sewing cabinet, storing the foot petal, cords etc. We plan to redesign my sewing room, so I will use the idea. I have 3 sewing machines, two have good size motors and housing, no plastic parts, a Dressmaker and a Bernina, I love them both. The cheaper built machine is a Sears, I can't wait to have a place to store it, instead of unpacking it, out of the box. I would never give my Bernina away. Thanks for sharing your internet bargain.

I think I am getting de-hydrated from all the drooling I'm having over this stuf, toys and quilts. Thanks for letting me drool on yours.

Welcome to the wonderful world of BERNINA! I have only 2 but will never give them up. Love the cabinet, good choice on a great deal!

I was taking a quilting course and my old Singer broke on the day before the last class. They said I could use theirs and so I used a Bernina Virtuosa 155 and I swear the machine hums when it sews. I was so hooked I had to buy one off of eBay. I took it to a repair shop this past September for the first time in 8 years just to be cleaned. It works perfectly every day every time, I guess I am hooked for life !
