I can't for the life of me remember, know I've seen it many times. I have about a dozen yards of blue batiks, 1 yard each, and going to make a quilt for a co-worker and his wife... they like blue.

Looks to me that it's a Blooming Nine Patch ... B9P for short!

Diane007 03-24-2013 05:38 PM

Yep blooming nine the pattern is in a book

DebraK 03-24-2013 05:41 PM

"tradition with a twist" is the name of the book.

I was about to agree with you, then took another look .... it's BOTH!
B9P towards the centre ... the switches to B4P further out.

Yes very similar effects ... though for the Boston Commons, it is all squares of fabric, sewn together. Whereas for the B9P/B4P 9Ps/4Ps are made and sewn as blocks into the design.

Found a clear picture of a B9P so I could see what it was and make it in EQ7. I'll need to get the batiks that I already have imported and play with it.

Thanks everyone for your answers.

Blooming four patch is a different one for me, have never seen one, just blooming 9 patch. But love the idea. A little less work.

Up4BigChal 03-25-2013 03:39 AM

Its Trip around the World

gabeway 03-25-2013 05:23 AM

I love the colors. It should be lovely.

Blooming 9 patch is more blendy. It blends the prior fabric and the following into a transitional block. This one looks tome like a Trip Around theWorld. Whatever it is, it's gorgeous.

It blends the fabrics so well, that you wre missing that it is the B9P/B4P.
