Done with the top! Someone said the green stars reminded her of a hurricane spinning. The hurricane winds haven't been very strong where I live. The rain is heavy at times but it has been manageable (according to our gutters, LOL)

Working on a FLAG! It's for the marching band's sax section at my DS's university. 2 other sections have a flag, so I offered to make on for the sax section my son is in. They designed it & now I'm frantically appliqueing LOTS of letters down on to some slippery satiny flag fabric. Side one is done and I'm HOPING to finish side 2 tomorrow. While I'm delighted to do this for the group, it a lot more tedious that I expected! But I'll glow with pride at every game I see them waving it at! Pictures soon... I hope!!

I am transforming Elsa fabric into 24 blade dresden rings ( just the rings for now I need to find the right fabric for step 2 and 3)

It looks like different fabric b/c the fabric pic was taken at night darkening it, and the dressie pic was taken in light and the flash washed it out, the true color is somewhere in the middle

Wow Cassandra, that's going to be cool!

Christine, I hope you're staying high and dry.

I'm getting ready to pull out a t-shirt quilt that I started (everything is stabilized and cut out, but nothing put together) several years ago for my cousin. I want to finish it in time for her 75 birthday which is in late October. Still need to decide on the layout and a fabric for in-between the t-shirt blocks and a backing, etc.

Meanwhile, this morning I got some more done on coloring my whole cloth doodle quilt.

I have been working on this quilt for over a year. I used the book Quilting Row by Row by Jeanette White and Erin Hamilton. It has brought me to tears and has been so fun at the same time. I have done all but 2 of the rows in the book. The others I got partially into them and one- had a flood in the basement and lost all the cut pieces. Didn't really like it anyway, and two - the pieces were too little to applique on my machine. I added the summer row myself. It is paper pieced. This is a technique building quilt. Each row has a new technique to learn. Paper piecing, sewing on the bias, 3-D pinwheels, applique and more. Here are the pictures of my rows and the pattern from the book.

Very neat. Great way to learn new techniques and end up with a pretty quilt!

LOL my old eyes did not read "sax" section - I will let you figure out what I DID read. At 82 I have been misreading things a lot lately. Maybe new glasses would help or finding the Fountain of Youth. This is in reply to the post of osewfast.
