Your bear is adorable and you were so right about the background making the picture complete. Her fabrics are the best and she designs a lot of them specifically for her patterns. Once the fabric is gone, it is gone and kits are no longer offered. Patterns are still available.
I have several laser cut kits from McKenna Ryan. I did the first one before she laser cut them and you are correct.....it is a job and a half! The laser cut kits are definitely the way to go with her patterns. I recently purchased her Row by Row, which was laser cut, and it took me a full day to cut the tabs holding the laser cut pieces in the same fabrics apart, numbering them and sorting by area (in this case animals) and then placing. My only difficulty was that she didn't do a full sized placement guide. It came out adorable, BUT I have yet to quilt it and add the embellishments. I also bought the Sept. block to her Be Happy BOM, and have the Piece of My Heart II waiting to be started. I looked carefully at her shop samples and she FMQs around each piece 1/16" away from the edges in a monofilament thread. Until now I wasn't sure I was capable of hitting that, but with plenty of applique work under my belt, I am sure I am ready to begin.

Cute wall hanging! That background is a nice addition to it too.

Her patterns are darling. You did a marvelous job.

The only one I've done so far, I used a panel background rather than trying the million tiny pieces for trees, snow, etc. It turned out great.

Your extra effort resulted in a wonderful quilt top. I took a class with Karen McTavish and she said "do the hardest thing you can, you won't regret it". I think that is very applicable to this very cute quit. Awesome background fabric too, that was a good call on your part.

Adorable!! I love her patterns...I keep watching for one that calls to me enough to justify the costs of her stuff. I hope to purchase a traditional applique kit one of these days. Her fabrics are beautiful as is your quilt..
