Whirling Hexagons Quilt
1 Attachment(s)
Just completed this lap quilt. The pattern was in the latest "Quilters World" Magazine spring 2015.
Its called Whirling Hexagons. I went through my stash and did every one with a different material. |
Very nice. I like how you left the edges irregular; I think a border would have detracted from your nice bright colors. What a fun quilt!
|
Very neat!

I just love love love this quilt. It is so cheery. I must go see if I can find that magazine. Was it a difficult pattern?
|
I love those blocks! Great job! And I like the irregular borders too.

Very unusual pattern. But, it is very pretty. I love all the bold bright colors.

Bet you had oodles of fun doing the binding for this one. Very cute quilt.

My grandmother made one like this in the 1930s. It was from a pattern in The Kansas City Star in those days. She used fabrics from my dad's and aunt's clothes along with purchased red yardage. She was a needle woman of note, but this first quilt pattern convinced her she wasn't cut our for quilting. Of course, trying to get all those points flat and even while hand piecing was pretty challenging for her first (and only) attempt at piecing. She gave it to me as a flimsy more than 30 years ago. I found a hand quilter who finished it, plus did a bit of repair. It is one of my most cherished possessions.
Sorry for the hijack, but it brought back memories. Your quilt is lovely. Pam |
Really like how colorful this is!
|
very unusual shaped quilt.
|
That is interesting
|
Very pretty and different. I think I would have left the ends like the sides so it'd be the same all around.
|
