You can see the entire colorway (at least I think it's "entire") here:

It's really quite stunning. Damn it.

I would use that for OBW though the repeat looks like only 12"? You might get some predominant black blocks because of the background areas but you don't have to use them all - or you could use them as half blocks to fill in. Regarding not enough colour variation - OBWs work best with a limited palette - ie 2 or 3 colours, many shades within those colours is fine. Otherwsie they can look too busy and not much different from the original fabric. I would probably then fussy cut some peacocks and do broderie perse in or around the borders. I love it! :-D

Several years ago I collected a series similar to this. I look at it often, waiting for just the right inspiration. It's one of the ones that screams out, "don't cut me until you are sure." I've made several sketches for potential use. The one I like best is treated much like an Asian print quilt, where the central peacock is isolated in an offset panel, and other panels showcase different portions of the main print.

Sorry, I have no ideas, but it's beautiful fabric.

When you say "offset", do you mean off center?

D9P with burnished gold center and blue/turq for other patches. I have method for getting peacocks all right side up if you need it.

OBW was my first thought. I don't necessarily want peacock material, but I love the colors, they are so rich. I do like the feathers a lot though. I think it work work up into a quilt very nicely and look very elegant.
