This is the back of the whole cloth I started quilting today. The front is white on white. I forgot to get a pic before I put it away. I'll be updating regularly with pics here.

Very nice!

I find that kind of work absolutely amazing. Keep us posted.

Beautiful quilting. Your stitches look so even. Are you using your new tool, Aunt Becky, Marge, Mabel, whatever her name was?

Up North 10-23-2011 07:25 PM

Wow such even stitches I hand quilt but my stitches are not that even!

lpsewing 10-23-2011 07:29 PM

Perfection !!

blueangel 10-23-2011 09:04 PM

Nice

AshleyR 10-24-2011 01:46 AM

LOL, no, I haven't gotten the hang of Aunt Becky yet. I'm trying her on another quilt that is "just for the bed" so I don't have to worry about stitches. This quilt is for a graduation gift so I'm being more particular about it!

I don't mean to ruin any surprises.. but it's just a bunch of lines for a while! But hopefully, tonight, I'll get pics of the front too.. just to shake things up and keep it interesting LOL

Three nights of quilting...

How beautiful!!! Love the monogram. You have done a great job with the hand quilting - I would stick to whatever method you are using now lol

I didn't get to do much last night but I did turn it around in the quilt frame and will now quilt the other loops around the monogram

I worked a bit on Sunday and some last night. I haven't had any free time this week!

I'm not sure if I'll get to work on it tonight, either :(

Thank you all for your compliments. It means so much to me! I'm just so excited about this quilt, who it's going to and how it's turning out!

I'm also glad I'm keeping a record of how much I'm getting done and when. It seems like I have a lot more than 9 evenings spent on this quilt (there have been some non-quilting days in there too).

Enjoy!

Someday I am going to do a whole cloth quilt! Keep up the great work!

hulahoop1 11-05-2011 10:23 AM

I've signed up to take a class in hand quilting a whole cloth and can hardly wait. I've done several needle-turn Hawaiian appliqué but hope to learn something new (like more consistent stitching)..

AshleyR 11-06-2011 03:32 PM

No pictures today. I did quite a bit of quilting yesterday, but couldn't quilt today. I did move the quilt in the frame, so there's nothing good to take a picture of!!
After 10 nights of quilting, I have the middle of the quilt from one end to the other *almost* done.

Carron 11-06-2011 03:51 PM

Bet it will be trully beautiful when finished.

AshleyR 11-12-2011 04:21 AM

I have been puttering away on the quilt. Threads are hanging out everywhere!! Progress is slow. My eyes have been giving me trouble, so some nights, I just can't do it. They're just itchy and water-y but it slows me down a lot!
I haven't taken any pictures because it's just more of the same. I'm just quilting straight lines so the pics are kind of boring! But it's so easy!

We moved my son into the guest room and his old room is my new quilting room/guest room. It's basically a quilting room with a futon in it lol! But my husband actually hangs out with me when I quilt so it's working out well. And I have enough room in there to move around. We have a small room that is mostly empty that will be our Christmas room. After Christmas, I'm not sure what to do with it. And today, I'm going to be painting walls, so my hand will probably be sore and I probably won't be able to work on it this weekend.
Anyway, there's an update... sort of!! :)

One thing or another is keeping me from working as much on this quilt, but here's what I have so far!

AshleyR 12-09-2011 03:36 AM

The quilt is still on the frame. It's looking good, but pictures all look the same LOL. I'm just doing all the lines in one direction, then I'm going to turn the quilt in the frame and do the other lines and finish with more of the loopdy-loops in a hoop. I'm more than half finished with the lines in the first direction. Hopefully next week at some point, I'll rotate and start on the other lines.

Looking forward to watching your progress on this great quilt!

Here it is as of tonight. It's still on the frame, and my dear sweet husband is holding it up. Then I got a picture of him looking like Mr. Wilson on Home Improvement! He says, "Hidy Ho, Quilters!"

Your work is so neat. I like what you do. Keep us updated.

AshleyR 12-12-2011 07:26 AM

I finally have enough progress to update a picture! I kind of put it aside for Christmas to work on gifts but now I'm back. My husband hangs out with me in my quilting room on the futon but he likes it better when I'm at the sewing machine, so he can hang out on the bed or his big recliner!

Blinkokr 01-09-2012 04:11 AM

What a beautiful job
