Let's try this again!! I have arthritis so my hand quiltng is so slow
Attachment 637440 but I enjoy hand quilting. I tried big stitch for the first time on the borders.
I decided I like big stitch! I want to applique a small out border of flowers.

That's just lovely! So much time and effort went into your hand quilting and it's so detailed and even. I'm glad you were finally able to share a picture! I'd hate to have missed it. :-)

Thank you!! It is frustrating to post pics on this forum. I love to see everyones quilts, so I'll keep trying, lol!

I love it - doing a whole cloth quilt is on my bucket list.

Wow, what a stunning quilt, excellent workmanship.

Oh, my land! The hours and dedication that took. It is beautiful.
Yes, big stitch is fun and a whole different mind set than what most quilters have developed.
Thank you for sharing your work with us. That is a treasure, for sure.

QuiltBaer 01-19-2022 05:57 AM

Your quilt is beautiful. You should be proud of your work.

Karamarie 01-19-2022 06:12 AM

Oh my, those are a lot of stitches and it sounds like you certainly have the determination to get it quilted. Beautiful!

EmiliasNana 01-19-2022 06:26 AM

What a gorgeous piece of work. Never in a million years would I have the persistence or talent to do what you do.

cylvia1952 01-19-2022 06:47 AM

Thank you everyone for your kind replies. I am also a knitter & I crochet. Getting older & arthiritis has slowed me down, but I'm still enjoying myself. I love looking at everyone's gorgeous quilts

This is magnificent! Your stitching is perfect. And you accomplished this with Arthritis! How proud you must be.

Thank you everyone!! I am so appreciative to have a creative outlet during stressful times. I find hand work relaxing much more than my sewing machine.

pennyhal2 01-19-2022 01:27 PM

Oh my! What a wonderful example of hand quilting! You are extremely talented with your quilting skills! I only dream about making a quilt like this, but it'll be a long time before I have the skill to do so.

Oh yes! I've said the same thing so many times during my life. Stitching keeps me sane! :)
I started out as a hand quilter but I have so many people I want to make quilts for (mostly family members) that I decided to
learn how to machine quilt. I love to knit at night while watching movies.

suern3 01-19-2022 02:59 PM

Just beautiful! I'm in awe of your hand work!

materialworld 01-19-2022 07:06 PM

Beautiful! I've always wanted to do a wholecloth quilt too. Yours is just amazing.

Jingle 01-20-2022 04:12 PM

A long time ago I use to hand quilt. I just machine quilt now for speed. I donate quilts to foster kids in my county.

Hands can't do sewing anymore.

Grandma’sgirl 01-20-2022 04:21 PM

Wow! Your quilt is gorgeous! I am inspired!

Slow2Sew 01-20-2022 08:00 PM

beautiful. I find hand work very relaxing also. I love hand quilting, but aurther doesn't. Amazed I don't see any guide lines, straight lines I have trouble with

RedGarnet222 01-23-2022 02:41 PM

Cute to the extreme! I love it. I cannot hand quilt anymore. Not that I ever could as well as you can. It tears up my wrists so bad, I could cry.

cylvia1952 01-26-2022 06:41 AM

Thank you everyone for your kind posts. My first quilt was a wholecloth. I just enjoy hand work, but I have to limit my time. Getting old isn't for the faint of heart, lol!!

lukehaid 01-26-2022 10:03 AM

A great job is done, But its long-term work result. If you do this type of hand quilting, You can't be able to do much more quilt in a limited time. But I have a curiosity, how much time do you take to do this?

rryder 01-26-2022 02:51 PM

Wow! That is gorgeous. So glad you were able to get the picture to post.
