I think anyone who has learned to love the process of quilting has an "ah ha" moment...mine came when I made a quilt of sailboats in memory of my father (who taught me to LOVE sailing) and donated it to Komen race for the cure quilt raffle. Dad died young of cancer and it seemed fitting that the money they made on it went to (breast) cancer research.
I love your quilt and its' story. |
Wonderful idea and great job.

This is a beautiful quilt. You've inspired me to make one in memory of my dad. When he passed in 2011 I made sure to keep a bunch of his shirts and I just took them out the other day, wondering what I should do with them. This quilt will bring you years of joy. Congratulations!

Your quilt is wonderful. I like the idea of a memory quilt. And I really like the way you put it together! thanks too for the pattern. Hope you have a great series of Memory quilts-and hope I get to see them too.

Great job. Scrappy memories are the greatest thing I know of.

Great job! What a nice project for you to "remember" those special fabrics, and moments in life. :)

Thank you for your wonderful quilt and for the idea. I have 2 boxes of fabric scraps from clothes Momma made for my sister and me and for herself. This quilt looks like a winner for them also.

Very pretty quilt! Giving me ideas!

Great quilt! nicely done! I have lots of scraps, I'm trying to keep up with my scraps, trimmed, organized, etc. etc. I hope when I'm ready to sew the pieces together, my quilt turns out as pretty as yours! thank you for sharing.
