Kathy, hands down this is one of the nicest quilts I've ever seen!!! Lucky daughter you have!!!

Very, Very nice!!! I wouldn't have noticed anything if it hadn't been pointed out either. It really is stunning & your hand dyed material certainly does look "jungleyish". :D

beautiful. great job. i love the dyed fabric. looks like batik. how did you do that? the block is the perfect choice for all those fussy cut kitties.
it is spectacular.

nanabirdmo has the right of it-- spectacular! That backing color is gorgeous and I too want to know how you did that!

Beautiful quilt! Your daughter is a very lucky girl and I'm sure she'll love it! I'm not gonna look for flaws 'cos I can find plenty of them in my own work!! lol.

I love it - the cats, the colors, everything. Don't worry about the character it has on the bottom - cookie cutter quilts are for robots.

thanks for all the compliments, you sure know how to make a girl feel good! it is basicly batik. it's a process of traeting the fabric with a chemical reactor then pouring the different dyes ( 3 greens and kaki and jungle brown) in spots over the scrunched up fabric then scrunching some more and waiting, and waiting ........I waited 12 hrs. then it takes all the rinsing in the tub my back could take then 3 in the washer and a full wash cycle. I only used a cup of each color but it seemed like a gallon when I was trying to get it rinsed! I also had dyed the back for the quilt I made for my boss, I didn't have a piece of muslin big enough so I used a brand new white sheet. MISTAKE!!!!!! It's a poly/cotton blend and the fibers took the color differently and it was not a pretty sight. Miranda saved the day, she had some beautiful colonial rose for sale. The almost ugly will go into a jean rag quilt to sit on in the yard when the grandkids are outside.
