Really well done.

vhord620 06-30-2012 05:34 AM

Thank you all for your nice comments. OMG, I just noticed from looking at the pic that the blocks are NOT arranged like they were intended...it should be alternating light and dark background blocks...how did that happen? It really sticks out like a sore thumb to me...oh well, I'll just pretend I planned it that way. I spent hours trying to get it layed out in a pleasing arrangement....LOL

Guess I'll just have to try again.

Wildflower wallhanging

Beautiful and you have a right to be proud.
You have a Jack-in-the pulpit design and I
haven't seen one of those since I left Maine.
I'll never see one here in Nebr. I love quilting
because we can change things to suit ourselves.
Enjoy each day with a new idea,

I'm so proud of myself I'm about to break my arm. I didnt think I could! This is a Smith Street Design pattern. I fell in love with it at first glance and just had to have it. I knew it would be difficult for this 71 yr-old newbie, so I adjusted and didnt make all the 1 inch square sashings that were so attractive. I incorporated my machine embroidery, applique, and quilting, and thought it turned out nice. I have a special wall I needed to hide some "ugly" and this will do quite well.
