WIP on "design wall" and Hexy top.

A view of my current WIP. The result of which has given me a pile of triangles. Would you keep them? If so what to make that's quick and/or easy to use them up.
The Hexy has been pieced over a period of roughly 9 months while watching TV or just relaxing. It's all scraps. The Owl is an embroidery ITH project from Inspiration Mutz, called Owls In My Kitchen. He looks rather sinister don't you think? A "No Nonsense Owl". I was almost unable to finish him because I left him hooped on the machine while I went to get my DGS from school and the hoop had sprung when I got back, so the design had moved a little. I did manage to complete the backing from the reverse side. The actual embroidery was complete thank goodness. Finally, the bag was at our local Quilt Show and I plan to make it, does anyone know it, or where I can get the pattern? I think I could work it out from the photo. Sorry it's so big Thanks for looking. |
I LOVE your WIP (I know that pattern but can't think of the name of it right now... name?). Could you use the leftover triangles as pinwheels? Or just as a really simple doll quilt (I don't know how small they are)? Your owl is darling but I sure wouldn't want to cross him... LOL! He looks like he means business! LOL! Your hexs are beautiful... you have way more patience than I'll ever have! How are you going to finish your quilts? Thank you for showing us all your beautiful projects! You've been busy!

Great projects!! Love the quilts!

Nice work!!Love your owl. As for the triangles stitch them together and make some crazy fabric. If you have other scraps add some more. If you have a big enough piece you could make a tote.
|
I love all of your projects. Thanks for showing us! Scrappies are my favorites. That owl does look scary! Those are kind of small triangles but they certainly can be pieced. I would sewing them up with other scraps into something interesting. You have a fine eye for scrappies so I'm sure you'll come up with a use for them.

Mug rugs for the scraps comes to mind. Lovely Christmas stocking stuffers. Just a thought. All your projects are just lovely.

Awesome work!!!!

I love your WIP. I don't know the pattern, but I really like the fact that it is a simple pattern but when combined makes stars in the middle. What are the dimension of the blocks? I would like to make one of them out of my scraps.
As for your triangles, sew two together to make squares and put them away. Some day you want want to do a row quilt and you will can put them together as a row or in a sampler quilt. |
Use the triangles as starters & enders-will make a great scrappy something! Love your quilts!
|
how cool is your first quilt on here .... I have one of those cut out waiting for me to sew lolol thank you for giving me a push to start it .....

Alot of beautiful things there, love the Owl best though.
