My DH, DS,DBIL spent several days at the beach and while everyone was sleeping in, I finished up some of my WIP's. Here are pictures. I have about 3 more Quilts for Kids that I finished plus another flannel quilt for foster kids. I'm thinking the ocean right outside our door and views from giant picture windows on 2 walls inspired me! I'm wondering if DH will take me back to the beach next week???? :-P

Heaven! Ocean and quilting!!!
Beautiful quilts!!! |
I love them all but esp the first two. I just love the 16 patch with the pinwheel pattern.
cute quilts
very pretty!
Cute quilts!! Glad you had such a great time at the beach.
Wonderful projects Feathers. I like the Tile Tango pattern. The colors in the scrappy one would be perfect for my sister...she loves purple. What size is it? Thanks for sharing your work.

Sometimes a little inspiration does us all a lot of good. Quilt shows, tv shows, tile floors (hey, it has inspired some) and the peaceful scenery can help us all. How many will your condo hold . . maybe a little quilters retreat . . hint hint . . lol
great work on the three quilts!! |
Boy, the beach has quite an effect on you. Maybe it would work for me too. I sure have lots of UFS's that need to be finished. My husband likes to saltwater fish, so maybe I cna workout a deal with him. We'll both retreat.
you can mail the second one to rapid city, south dakota. beautiful
REALLY like that second one that looks like chocolates in a Valentine box! <wave> all of them are great ... nothing spurs the creativity like the vistas of an open sea, mountains, and nature, eh? <wave.>
WOW what inspiration!! They are all beautiful but the second one is my personal favorite :D
Cute! Love, love, love the color choices in the first one :)
Wonderful quilts. You have done many quilts for kids. I have to get mine finished (just need to quilt, bind, and wash). Then get going on the one from my stash....Maybe I can get my husband to whisk me away for a WIP weekend>>>
oh, feathers your quilts are awesome...LOVE the second one  :-D
enjoy the beach :!: |
So what beach were you at? Maybe I can go there and work up some beautifal quilts as you have done. Nothing better than listening to the ocean. When I lived in the Seattle area I spent alot of time at Ocean Shores. Beautifal place.
Great job on the quilts. |
Beautiful quilts!
very nice
Ooooo they are all beautiful :D:D:D
I just LOVE the Scrappy quilt! I think the Pacific NW ocean would just invite me to stare out at it all day. But it sure inspired you to be industrious! Beautiful!
Beautiful quilts. Nothing like the ocean to give us inspiration.
how big are your blocks in the stash quilt. It looks great!
Dang! You go girl! They are all great!!!
Your quilts are beautiful but I was hoping to see a picture of the beach as well. :D

The 4 patches are made with 2 fabric pieces 3 1/2 inches each by Width of fabric sewed together the long way then cut into 3 1/2 inch pieces then sew 2 of these pieces together to make the 4 patch. You'll have 15 of these units that measure 6 1/2 inches when sewn. Then add a 6 1/2 inch focus fabric block between each of the 4 patch blocks. The beach pictures are awesome. I'm not sure I could get any sewing done with that beach outside my room. :) Thank you for posting them here.
Again your quilts are beautiful. I can see how the child's quilt is made after reading your explanation. |
